About Yannick Fortin - Orchestral composer

Who I am?

Like everyone else, I'm a mixture of many things! :)

but I'd say that artistically, the driving force behind my creativity is the influence of classical romantic composers (Schubert, Brahms), and others like Sibelius, Prokofiev, Ravel, Debussy. And to be honest, I've also crossed the red line a little, with a passion for the rock music of my generation (Metallica, Guns, ...) or more recent (Muse). So it's only natural that, over time, these two genres should intersect regularly in my life. As a violinist from an early age, but also an electric bassist, I've been lucky enough in my life to be able to play in classical quartets, symphony orchestras, but also rock bands, on violin or bass!

So my compositions have also followed the same path. Sometimes rock, sometimes classical, sometimes both! In any case, what I think stands out about me is my slightly romantic, orchestral, dreamy, idealistic side.

Today, I'm lucky enough to be involved in several musical projects at the same time:

As a composer of visual music, heavily influenced by classical music, I launched the musical tale "La fabuleuse histoire d'Isatys", which is a collection of musical scenes and compositions narrating the story of this young hero.

I also enjoy taking part in film and video game music competitions, to expand my network and my skills!

As a curator, I launched a spotify, deezer and Youtuve playlist in the same genre as “la fabuleuse historie d'Isatys”, to further expand this musical universe.

As a rock composer, I'm working on a number of rock, orchestral and romantic pieces. I'm accompanied in this adventure by Gilles Fournat on guitar and sometimes Benoit Villedieu on drums. Latest release: "Rêve".
